...but you can still come to Inishowen!

Well, you probably already know that it's the most beautiful part of Ireland!  But if you are considering coming to Ireland for a holiday then let us show you why you should come to County Donegal.  Just look at how Kate and her family spend their holidays in Donegal here or click on this link to see a video and hear more about, what Donegal has to offer and then start your holiday by coming to ride at Rose Cottage Riding School!

You will see in the video that Nick Faldo and other golf professionals love some of the Golf courses in Donegal.  If you or your partner like golf then you should know that one of these very golf courses is actually only ten minutes away from Rose Cottage!!  See information about Ballyliffin Golf Club below!
Malin Town is situated in the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal.
Have a look at and to find things to do and places to go whilst you are in Inishowen.

DRIVING TO ROSE COTTAGE?  Approach Malin Town from the South on the R242, pass over over Malin's unique ten arched stone bridge and turn next (sharp) left as you enter Malin Town Square. This is still the R242.  Then proceed for 1.9km (1.2miles) from this point along the R242.  Rose Cottage is on your right. Please note that the Riding School is now closed so do not enter the yard.

Ballyliffin Golf Course has wonderful views of the Inishowen peninsular. It is also the most northerly golf club in Ireland. It has two 18 hole courses, and caters for all abilities including the levels of Nick Faldo who played the "Old Course" the weekend before he won the 1993 Carrolls Irish Open. The new Glashedy links played from the championship 'Tiger' tees (7,102 yds) is a real test of golfing skill. Ballyliffin has a super clubhouse, bar and eating facilities with showers and changing rooms. Visiting golfing groups and societies are always welcome. Reservations are however usually necessary at weekends.

Greencastle Golf Club is on the banks of Lough Foyle, not too far (35km) from Rose Cottage and it offers good golf on links and parkland holes.  The clubhouse was modernised and the course extended in the club's centenary year (1992) to a full 18 holes extending to nearly 5000 yards with a par of 69. Non-members are most welcome.

Our Ferry!
Do check the service is operational before arrival

We'd like you to know about the Lough Foyle Ferry which when running makes it so easy to pop over from NI to us. It runs once every hour from April to September and cuts off a long road journey.  So, if you are exploring the North Coasts of County Antrim or County Londonderry why not check it out? Only £17 return (£10 single) for a car and passengers (in 2013).

If you are coming from Northern Ireland why not enjoy this lovely approach via the Lough Foyle ferry between Magilligan Point and Greencastle? We are only 27km (17 miles) or about 35-45mins by car from Greencastle. Do check before you set off though in case there are problems with the weather. See the ferry's link & phone number in the Contacts table below for more information.

On the way back just see how easy access to the ferry is at the lovely port of Greencastle!  Just drive on and drive off; save a long detour via Derry and for a few minutes enjoy the lovely scenery on the way over.  Money well spent.
